WELCOME!
Hello and welcome to the ESSMC E-Newsletter.
We are so grateful for our 25 years of service to the East communities and we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our loyal patients and colleagues who have supported us. We are proud of the fact that we have remained an independent practice, owned entirely by physical therapists. Our adage of hard work and customer-focused care has been the secret to our success, and we owe a debt of gratitude to all of our dedicated staff who have been the backbone of the organization.
Enjoy this issue of the newsletter. We welcome feedback on topics that you might have a special interest in, or any other question that you may have. Please email us at news@essmc.com and we will get right back to you. |

Kristy, Mike and Michael Tony Novak are shown here in the mountains of Utah enjoying the beautiful scenery at Alta Ski Resort and sporting multiple colors of the ever popular ESSMC t-shirts. Make no mistake – the colorful trio was easily spotted on the mountain with the gold, orange and lime green versions! Can you guess who is getting some big-time air off of that jump?
Check out more photos.
As a special incentive, we will give an Atria’s gift card to anyone who submit a photo sporting our brightly colored t-shirts and spreading the word of our good work in interesting places. Please send us a photo with a brief caption describing where you have been photographed and what you were doing at the time.

Amber Waters Ripani, MPT
Job description: Physical Therapist
Number of years with the practice: Just over one year
Things that I do every day: Run, exercise, read my Bible, play with my kids.
Where I'm from and where I reside now: Bucks County, PA and I reside now in North Huntingdon.
Favorite thing about working in a PT practice: Restoring a person’s independence, returning an athlete to their sport and enabling the individual to take control of their rehab. I like working for this practice because this is a team of individuals who work together well for the same goal.
Favorite hobby: Outdoor activities such as trail running, hiking, fly fishing, cycling, and gardening. I enjoy introducing these activities to my kids.
Funny thing about me that most people do not know: My family calls me the “food Nazi” or “Stalin” because I try to get everyone to eat healthy. I guess I obsess with organic and natural foods as well as keeping the sugar to a minimum. I try to get everyone to exercise as well.
Favorite place to travel to and why: I enjoy visiting family in Colorado. The entire state is beautiful and the people are active and concerned about the environment. There are 365 days of sunshine and as they say in Colorado... “if you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes.”
Favorite memory as a child: Playing outside until dark with the neighborhood kids with games such as football, kick the can, man hunt, and sled riding. It was much safer and kids were more active then.
Favorite color: Anything neutral – earth tones.
Favorite thing about Pittsburgh: I love the Pittsburgh Marathon and other races. It is great to see all of the different communities around the city. It is fun to gather at The Point after a race and stuff yourself with bagels and bananas. The three rivers and bridges really make the city beautiful and give it character.
Words that describe me: Compassionate, loyal and energetic. |
