WELCOME!
Welcome to the ESSMC E-Newsletter. It is our hope that everyone is enjoying a wonderful summer with a good walk or run, a round of golf with a special friend, time at the beach or just some time relaxing with a good book. We have built our practice one relationship at a time and it is truly hard to believe that we have completed our 25th year of practice. We value all of our patients and colleagues more than you will ever know, and we want to stay connected as best we can.
The celebration of our 25th anniversary continues, and we are excited to report that beginning Monday July 27th, we will embark on our first ever major marketing campaign on cable TV. You can see our ads on ESPN, CNN, Headline News, and TNT to name a few. Keep a look out for us while you are channel surfing.
We welcome feedback on topics that you might have a special interest in, or any other question that you may have. Please email us at news@essmc.com and we will get right back to you. Enjoy this edition, and don’t forget the quiz. |

Athletic Training Services

18th Annual Student Athletic Trainer Workshop
Plans are once again underway for the Student Athletic Trainer Workshop, which will take place at Penn Trafford High School on August 11-13, 2009. This is the 18th year that we have presented the course to aspiring students. Larry Cooper, ATC is the coordinator and all of our staff provides both lecture and hands-on instruction.
Check out the web site for a downloadable registration form.
Golf Outing Sponsorship
ESSMC once again sponsored the 2nd Annual Plum Football Alumni Golf outing in June. We have had a special relationship with the Plum Football program since 1984. Plum was the first school district that we contracted with to provide athletic training services, and John Bonaroti launched the program. We are proud to note that this fall will be our 26th season caring for the student-athletes of the Plum School District, and we place our relationship in high regard. The golf outing was a huge success raising scholarship money for the William Rometo, Sr. Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Race Sponsorships

Jerry Maher Memorial 5K
For the third year in a row, ESSMC has supported the Maher Memorial 5k as a major corporate sponsor. The proceeds of the race, which annually exceed $8000, support research for Parkinson’s Disease.
Stampede in the Park
For the second straight year, we are sponsoring the Stampede in the Park, a 5K run / walk put on by the Plum Running Mustangs alumni. The event supports leukemia research at the Hillman Cancer Center and it also provides scholarships for graduating Mustangs. The event is Saturday July 25th at 8:00 AM at the Boyce Park Ski Lodge.
Co-Pay difficulties?
If you or someone you know is in need of our service, but is hesitating to schedule because of rising co-pays or other issues, please call the office and discuss the matter with our staff. We DO have options for you. Your conversation will be held in the strictest confidence.

Check out this quote from one of our patients who has embraced HealthPointe:
July 1, 2009: “As of this morning, I have lost 30 pounds. I wanted to lose this much, but thought that it would take years. Instead, it just took 3 months and 10 days. - Jean Bartholomae
Jean is an example of a person with an arthritic joint getting relief through weight-loss and physical therapy. It does work!
We have helped our group of participants lose over 277 pounds in 6 months!
