6.08.2010 Lindblad Award

Robert Theiss

Congratulations to Robert Theiss of Plum High School for being the 12th recipient of the John H. Lindblad Memorial Award. We established this award in 1998 in memory of Dr. Lindblad, who unselfishly dedicated himself to the student-athletes at Plum and who was instrumental in developing the team physician - athletic trainer model for sports medicine care that is still working today!

Robert  is #1 in his classwith a 4.59 GPA. Robert excelled in volleyball and was a pivotal part of the 2009-2010 Plum Mustang basketball team that won the section title. He will be attending Allegheny College in the fall for a bachelor degree in Biology and he will pursue medical school.

Congratulations, Robert, and best wishes for continued success.

Robert is pictured receiving the award from Ryan Kesterholt, ATC, an employee of ESSMC and the Head Athletic Trainer at Plum HS.

Our employees supported two worthy causes on October 2 of this year. This is the 8th year we have participated in Lee Denim Day. Any employee who donated $5.00 to this cause received a pink ribbon pin and could wear jeans to work on Lee Denim Day. The employees provided “pink treats” for our patients to raise awareness for this cause and the money collected will go to Lee Denim Day. Our Penn Hills office employees donated items to make up a gift basket and sold raffle tickets. The funds raised from the basket are being donated to the Susan G. Komen Passionately Pink for the Cure cause. Almost everyone knows someone, whether it be friend, coworker, or family member who has been affected by breast cancer. Our employees are “Passionate” about helping to find a cure for this disease.
